Total Time (Minutes): 30
  • One Cup Boiled chickpeas
  • Garlic Onion Paste
  • Salt & spices
  • All purpose flour/Maida
  • Cheese cubes
  • Oil

  1. Transfer chickpeas to food processor with onion, garlic, salt, pepper, cumin, and pulse into a coarse meal.
  2. Transfer mixture into a bowl and add all purpose flour. We need to make balls so accordingly add maida gradually. You should be able to form a ball.
  3. Wet yours hands and form small falafel balls. Put a cheese cube into the falafel ball and roll into a perfect circle.
  4. Heat the oil. Fry balls on medium flame till golden brown.
  5. Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
  6. NOTE: Make sure to not over process the chickpeas mixture (first step) or it will become creamier/hummus.
  7. To test the oil, add some falafel mixture in the oil. If it sizzles and turns golden brown the second it touches the oil, its ready to fry. But If it turns brown-black, the oil is too hot. If the mixture sinks, it is not hot enough.
