Potato Winter Treat

In our hindu religious ceremonies, No auspicious day can be complete without the frying of the bread in a kadai full of hot ghee or oil. Festival  is all about celebration, togetherness be it with the family or society, immersing in our culture and yummy indulgent food! Ingredients:
  • Wheat Flour - 2 Cup
  • Potatoes boiled, mashed and then grated - 2
  • Suji - 2 Tbsp
  • Jeera / Cumin seeds
  • Red Chili Powder
  • Turmeric powder
  • Ajwain / Carom seeds
  • Coriander finely chopped
  • Oil
  • Water
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, Add wheat flour and grate the boiled potatoes in it.
  • Now add salt, red chili powder, turmeric power, jeera, ajwain, chopped coriander, green chili and finally suji.
  • Combine all ingredients well.
  • Knead a semi stiff dough with the help of water. Grease the dough with some oil. Cover the dough with a damp cloth.
  • Take the small dough and smoothen it with oil, roll and flatten the dough, in between your palm.
  • Roll out puri.
  • Deep fry them until they are golden in color in hot oil on low to medium flame.(Make sure you don't fry them on high flame,you will not get crispy texture)
  • Taste best when served hot. Serve them with pickle/raita/matar sbzi.
