Pan Fried Idlis are made in tadka pan & loved by kids and adults. Pan Fried Idli can be cooked when you are in a hurry that especially suits as lunch item for school going, children.

Ingredients:
  • Rava - 1 Cup
  • Whisked Curd - 1 Cup
  • Oil - 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Few Curry Leaves
  • Eno- Half spoon
  • Salt - To taste
Instructions:
  • Take fine semolina/rava in a mixing bowl. Add whisked curd, salt. Mix them well. Add water and make batter like that of normal idli. Keep batter aside for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Now heat a tadka pan, pour little oil & add curry leaves, mustard seeds.
  • Now add eno salt in the batter & give it a mix (Do not overmix).
  • Add 2 tablespoon Idli batter on tempering. Pour some oil on the sides as well as over it.
  • Cover & cook it for 2 to 3 minutes on low to medium flame.
  • Flip it carefully & pour some oil again on the sides. Cook again for 2 minutes. When its golden brown from both the sides, take out from the pan.
  • NOTE: You can add chopped vegetables of yours choice in winter. It will be more healthy.
  • Make it in small non stick choka/tadka pan only.
