Ghiya chana dal recipe - A curry made in tomato puree with bottle gourd, split Bengal gram with mustard seeds & curry leaves flavor.

Ingredients:
  • Half Medium Bottlegourd
  • Half Cup Split Chana Daal (Soaked for 2 hrs)
  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • Few Curry Leaves
  • 4 Tbsp Tomato Puree
  • Salt & Spices
Instructions:
  • Heat oil in a cooker, add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Saute them well.
  • Add tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and mix well. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Add daal & bottlegourd (ghiya) & mix well.
  • Now add salt & water (Water just enough to cover daal & ghiya). Take 3 to 4 whistles on medium flame. One done, cook it on low flame without lid for 2 minutes.
  • Ready to serve with chapati/paratha.
