Vegetarians can also meet their protein intake
Even though people wonder where vegetarians get their protein, it isn't hard to meet the required amount for a Vegetarian. According to the Dietary Guidelines, women need 46 grams of protein and men need 56 grams of protein (but this does vary depending on your activity level, age and more).
Many people still believe that protein is only available from meat and animal sources but you can get enough protein from vegetarian sources.
It is important to get more protein on a daily basis because as we age we begin to lose lean muscle in our 40s and without regular activity and consuming adequate amounts of protein daily we become weaker. Once we reach our 50s we begin losing muscle mass at a faster rate and it becomes more beneficial to have protein frequently throughout the day to prevent sarcopenia or age related muscle loss.
