Store Curry Leaves in Kitchen

Do you know? You can store curry leaves too in yours kitchen like you store methi. Storing it in a jar makes it easy to use as its not possible to pluck out leaves at every use and then wash off them.

If you are not using curry leaves then start using it. It makes food fully aromatic & at the same time, it has immense health benefits. Curry leaves have a good amount of vitamin A (beta-carotene is 12,600 IU/100 gm), with calcium (810 mg/100 gm), phosphorus (600 mg/100 gm), iron (3.1 mg/100 gm), vitamin C (4 mg/100 gm), and fiber (6.1%). It also has high levels of oxalates (1.35%).

  • Separate the leaves from the stems, wash thoroughly and put all the curry leaves on a kitchen towel and pat them dry.

  • Make sure they are properly dry. 

  • Heat 1 spoon oil in pan. Add 1 Cup curry leaves & saute till 4 to 5 minutes on low flame.

  • Take out in a plate & let it cool properly.

  • Once cooled down, store them in an clean airtight glass jar.

  • Just crush them & add directly in poha or idli tempering or dosa batter or daal or rice.
