100% Organic! Real or Scam?

When you go to grocery store, you see a lot of products mentioning 100% organic. Few facts you must know about authenticity of organic products.

  • Being oraganic product does not necessarily mean that no pesticides were used, but any pesticides would have to be regulated and non-synthetic.

  • In order to be considered organic, animal products need to come from animals that were fed with an organic diet and were raised under certain conditions that promote animal health and welfare. Organically raised animals cannot be fed antibiotics or other growth hormones.

  • Organic food does not last longer as it doesn’t contain preservatives.

  • Organic food is often more expensive than conventionally-grown food. 

  • All artificial colorings and sweeteners are banned in organic food.

  • Organic food is grown in well-balanced soil, it makes sense that these healthy plants have a great taste.
