Bread Vada Recipe

Bread Vada is a recipe made with bread, curd & spices. Onion & carrot give them crunchiness while curd gives melting taste. This recipe is best when you have only bread to make bread but you don't want to make common bread breakfast recipes like sandwich or bread roll.

  • White Bread - 6 slice
  • Few Chopped Coriander & Mint leaves
  • Green chilli - 2
  • Onion (finely chopped) - 1
  • Carrot (grated) - 1 cup - optional
  • Salt - To Taste
  • Thick Curd - 1 cup
  • Rice flour - 1 cup
  • Oil - To Fry

  1. Mash the bread and add chopped coriander leaves, green chillies, mint leaves, carrot, onion, salt (to taste).
  2. Add rice flour and curd for binding and mix it. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  3. Mixture should be moist. It should come together like a ball. If it does not come together then add little more yogurt.
  4. Grease your palms with oil very well and shape into vadas. Fry them in hot oil.
  5. Once it is golden brown from one side, flip and cook other side as well. Remove it to a paper towel.
  6. Serve it with coconut chutney.
  7. NOTE - when you soak the bread in curd, it will become soft with time. So add curd gradually only according to required softness.
  8. Fry few vadas at a time.
  9. Don't turn them so quickly when frying. They are fragile.
